Granite is far harder than marble and resists scratching well — but its mirror polish is still vulnerable. Grit dragged underfoot scuffs and dulls the shine, dropped tools chip exposed edges and corners, and construction chemicals can attack the surface sealant, leaving cloudy patches that are costly to re-polish.
